What a great night for BV Dairy at the Dorset Business Awards, Dorset’s biggest annual celebration of business achievements from companies of all sizes and an opportunity to showcase business in the whole of Dorset.

At the glittering gala event at the BIC on November 1st, BV Dairy were presented with 2 of the most prestigious awards of the evening – the:

Lester Aldridge – Company of the Year Award

UK Health Insurance – Investing in Dorset Award

These really recognise all that work that BV Dairy do in and around the local community with dairy farmers, employees, schools and other local stakeholders. They are also testament to the hard work and professionalism that make BV Dairy the company that it is today.

Judges commented on ‘how impressed they were with BV Dairy’s outstanding commitment to purchasing milk from farmers within a 30-mile radius of its facility in Shaftesbury and the Farm Liaison Team that works building mutually-beneficial relationships with farmers to ensure that the local economy benefits too. Indeed, the judges recognised how strongly BV Dairy’s dedication to purchasing locally is embedded across the whole organisation, extending to asking its suppliers that they too, wherever possible, also use local suppliers.’ It was also noted that ‘BV Dairy has a great ethos and is actively and positively involved in the Dorset community and is concerned for the environment.’ The judges for Company of the Year were unanimous: ‘BV Dairy is focused on investing to procure growth. It is a successful business in a sector that experiences pressure on margins and has, in fact, delivered impressive growth. This makes BV Dairy this year’s clean winner for the award and for Dorset.’

As celebrations continued Jim Highnam, BV Dairy’s Managing Director and the 3rd generation of the family to hold the role, impressed on the whole Team at the Dairy that ‘on behalf of myself and family I would like to say a massive thank you to everyone who has worked for the Company, past and present, over the last 60 years. I look forward to continuing to work with the current Team to grow the Company further and to ensure that we stay on the top of our game.’
