On June 1, 8 colleagues from BV Dairy will be taking on a huge sporting challenge – and all in the name of charity.

They will be competing in a triathlon type event in the glorious but very rugged terrain around Porlock (www.visitsomerset.co.uk/…/porlock-and-porlock-weir-…), between Exmoor and the North Somerset coast.

The event includes an 8km cross country hike, a 10km canoe row and a 30km bike ride PLUS an obstacle course – just for good measure. Our Teams will have to navigate their way around the gruelling course collecting points and avoiding time faults – it could take up to 10 hours and is truly not for the faint hearted!!

The incentive is to raise money for charity and all colleagues at the Dairy had the opportunity to nominate and vote on which deserving cause to support. As stroke has affected many of the workforce directly or indirectly over the last 18 months or so it was unanimously decided to raise what we can for the Stroke Association (www.stroke.org.uk).

Training has started in earnest and on 10 March a team head toward Ringwood for The Stroke Associations 10k Resolution Run. Fund Raising is also taking place with regular day time and evening events.
