September saw the 15th annual World Beverage Innovation Awards take place at Drinktec in Munich, Germany. 227 entries from over 33 countries entered the 25 categories.
Focus at this prestigious event is on innovation with many ambitious new concepts, flavours and state-of-the-art technologies being showcased by worldwide based companies, both large and small. These awards are designed to celebrate excellence throughout the industry.
BV Dairy recently announced the installation of a Filmatic bottling line capable of filling 16.2 million cultured milk and Kefir drinks per year and their expansion into contract packing for this sector.
One of their first customers, Bio-tiful Dairy from London has been a champion for Kefir since 2012 and in 2016 started work with BV Dairy on expanding their range of Kefir and Kefir Smoothies made with the best quality British milk. The 2017 World Beverage Innovation Awards saw the culmination of this work with the Strawberry & Grapefruit Kefir Smoothie – one of the newest in the range and made exclusively for Sainsbury’s – taking the Best Dairy Drink 2017 Award.
