Food Safety – always high on the list at BV Dairy

All Smiles – (L – R) Hazel Warner, Dennis Bell, Andy Denham-Cooke and Tracey Young

BV Dairy take food safety extremely seriously and support their employees in helping them gain professional qualifications on the subject. Recently 4 members of the team studied for and undertook Level 4 Awards in Managing Food Safety in Manufacturing (RQF) Exams. The qualification, which is regulated by Ofqual, demonstrates that the candidates have reached a high level in this subject.

Over six weeks members of the technical and operational teams worked on the course covering a range of topics including managing microbiological and chemical hazards and the importance of implementing and monitoring food safety procedures. Paula Boult, BV Dairy’s Technical Manager, emphasised that this level of training Is important for the Dairy to continuously uphold the food safety culture and management systems within the organisation whilst, at the same time, developing staff in areas relevant to their role. The results gained were exceptional and Paula went on to congratulate Hazel Warner and Dennis Bell for achieving Distinctions and Tracey Young and Andy Denham-Cooke for gaining impressive Merit Awards.

Trainer, Susan Alexander, of Aaron Scott and Black in Ringwood said “I am extremely impressed by the enthusiasm and dedication of all the team at BV Dairy who worked incredibly hard over the six weeks of training to achieve their wonderful exam results. It is to their credit that they all exceeded the pass mark by gaining merits and distinctions! From my point of view, it is very rewarding to teach at BV Dairy, which has its own laboratory and on-site training facilities. There is a real culture of commitment to training and support of the workforce. I am also very pleased to find that the candidates have already started to implement new strategies based on what they have learned, which is to the benefit of the industry. Congratulations to everyone!”.
