BV Dairy supports local cyclists

BV Dairy of Shaftesbury are keen to support worthy causes in the area and few can be worthier than the team from the Oxley Sports Centre in Sherborne who are raising money in aid of the Alzheimer’s Society.

Ellie Green (right in the picture) and a small team of colleagues cycled from the Oxley Sports Centre the 452 miles to Amsterdam, via Brighton. Talk of the challenge started when the staff at the Oxley Sports Centre were training to become Dementia Friends. ‘In an area such as Sherborne many of our clients are older and it is important to be aware of the problems they could experience in later life’ Ellie said. ‘The training made us aware of the diversity of the problem and this is why we chose the Alzheimer’s Society to support’.

BV Dairy’s Finance Director, Vaughan Heard (left in the picture), trains at the Oxley Sports Centre and was working with Ellie when he found out about the challenge. ‘Dementia is a condition that could touch any family’ he said, ‘and BV Dairy are happy to support the team with a donation to the Alzheimer’s Society.’
