BV Dairy
The Blackmore Vale in Dorset was described by classic author Thomas Hardy as “the vale of the little dairies”. Blackmore Vale Farm Cream first came to the market in 1958 and was made at a traditional family owned dairy farm in the Vale. This fledgling business, together with its product range, subsequently grew and evolved considerably to become BV Dairy, relocating from the original farm to the current modern Shaftesbury processing and distribution centre. Now one of the south’s most successful independent dairies, the original founding family continue to be deeply involved with running and developing the business and retain their passion for creating a quality product through working with the local farming community. Indeed, this has been always been an important factor in local raw material sourcing with all fresh milk being collected from over 35 selected farms within a close proximity to the Dairy.

With such a background we really do understand all aspects of the dairy industry as well as the importance of restricting food miles to access the freshest product in an environmentally sound way.

Whilst recognising the value of tradition and heritage, we place the greatest emphasis on the use of modern technology and maintaining the strictest levels of hygiene, traceability of products and eco-friendly processes.
