BV Dairy works closely with local farmers to ensure a consistent supply of the highest quality fresh milk. Dairy farming dominates the agricultural landscape of the Blackmore Vale and we are proud to be part of this industry, buying our raw materials from the local community.
We currently source raw milk from over 35 local dairy farms, all within close proximity to the dairy. The farms are all inspected as part of the Farm Assured Scheme and are required to comply with this standard. Our typical supplier often has a long dairy farming heritage yet applies modern best practice principles to ensure healthy animals yielding high quality milk. In addition to the Farm Assured Scheme, the milk from each farm is tested according to a strict schedule. Not only does this ensure that the milk continues to be of the highest quality throughout the year, but it also forms the basis of the payment scheme for the farmer.
