MascarponeReputed to have originated in the area between Lodi and Abbiategrasso, Italy, in the late 16th or early 17th century. Named from ‘mascarpa’, a milk product made from the whey of stracchino (aged cheese). It is milky-white in colour and easily spreadable and can be used in a variety of dishes. It is the main ingredient in ever-popular tiramisu.
