This is a statement of BV Dairies intentions and principles in relation to our overall environmental performance, which will provide a framework for action, and for the setting of environmental objectives and targets. BV Dairy believes that high standards of environmental performance are essential in order to achieve the organisation's financial and non-financial goals. Each person at BV Dairy is responsible for implementing and maintaining our high environmental standards. To fulfil this commitment we will abide by the following principles whilst working towards EN ISO 14001 accreditation - 1.We will identify risks to the environment and wherever possible, prevent or otherwise minimise harmful effects of our activities on the environment. 2.We will, as a minimum, ensure compliance with all applicable environmental laws and regulations. 3.We will commit to meeting our targets for key performance indicators as an additional measure of environmental performance. 4.We will monitor relevant environmental parameters and conduct periodic audits of our operating facilities to assess compliance with environmental laws and regulations and to drive continual improvement 5.We will actively encourage waste minimisation and reduce packaging and, whenever possible, use recycled materials. In addition we will work to recycling targets for any packaging waste. 6.We will work with our suppliers to ensure that their environmental practices are compatible with our own. 7.We will provide appropriate information, communication and training to build internal and external understanding concerning the Company's environmental commitment. |
