BV Dairy respects the Environment, supports sustainable development and is committed to environmentally sound business practices. This is demonstrated by our ISO14001 certification." This is a statement of BV Dairies intentions and principles in relation to our overall environmental performance, which will provide a framework for action, and for the setting of environmental objectives and targets. The Scope of the EMS is for the processing of milk and production, packaging and distribtion of Fresh, Cultured and soft cheese. BV Dairy believes that high standards of environmental performance are essential in order to achieve the organisation's financial and non-financial goals. Each person at BV Dairy is responsible for implementing and maintaining our high environmental standards. To fulfil this commitment we will abide by the following principles. 1. We will identify and periodically review risks to the environment and wherever possible, prevent or otherwise minimise harmful effects of our activities on the environment, including pollution. 2. We will, as a minimum, ensure compliance with all applicable environmental legislation and other requirements. 3. We will commit to meeting our targets for key performance indicators as an additional measure of environmental performance. 4. We will monitor relevant environmental parameters and conduct periodic audits/reviews of our operating facilities to assess compliance with environmental laws and regulations and to drive continual improvement 5. We will actively encourage waste minimisation and reduce packaging and, whenever possible, use recycled materials. In addition we will work to recycling targets for any packaging waste. 6. We will work with our suppliers to ensure that their environmental practices are compatible with our own, and annually se reviewable objectives and targets for any packaging waste. 7 We will provide appropriate information, communication and training to build internal and external understanding concerning the Company's environmental commitment. |
